2012 – VI Congreso Internacional de Medicina Ambiental
La Fundación Alborada y la Fundación Vivo Sano tienen el placer de invitarles a participar en el VI Congreso Internacional de Medicina Ambiental, que tendrá lugar en Madrid los días 1, 2 y 3 de junio de 2012 bajo el lema ‘Un cambio necesario’.Este VI Congreso da continuidad al trabajo realizado en los cinco anteriores y conecta con encuentros similares que se están llevando a cabo en otros países de nuestro entorno.
Salud ambiental, según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), es «aquella disciplina que comprende aquellos aspectos de la salud humana, incluida la calidad de vida y el bienestar social, que son determinados por factores ambientales físicos, químicos, biológicos, sociales y psico-sociales. También se refiere a la teoría y práctica de evaluar, corregir, controlar y prevenir aquellos factores en el medio ambiente que pueden potencialmente afectar adversamente la salud de presentes y futuras generaciones». A través de la carta de Ottawa y de la Convención de Yakarta, la OMS ha puesto de manifiesto que para alcanzar cuotas adecuadas de salud hay que poner énfasis en el control medioambiental.
La conciencia de que un medio ambiente, laboral o doméstico deteriorado puede ocasionar enfermedades supone un nuevo escenario al que enfrentarnos. Los profesionales de la medicina deben interesarse y formarse en los impactos que para la salud suponen nuevos riesgos como los contaminantes físicos, la nanotecnología o los alimentos transgénicos, que cada día están más presentes en nuestra vida cotidiana. Recientes estudios relacionan estos agentes con un amplio abanico de enfermedades como sensibilidad química múltiple, síndrome de fatiga crónica, fibromialgia, alzheimer, parkinson, diabetes, afecciones coronarias, o cáncer.
Participar en el VI Congreso le permitirá ahondar en los puntos más relevantes de la Medicina Ambiental:
– Últimos avances en las patologías con etiología ambiental.
– Nuevas investigaciones en medicina ambiental.
– Papel de los tóxicos como desencadenantes o agravantes de distintas patologías.
– Iniciativas en salud pública.
